Although golden doodles are bred from pedigreed golden retrievers and pedigreed standard poodles, they are not American Kennel Club recognized at this time.  The breed standards have been established and verification of true breeding is in process.  However, AKC requires 16 documented generations of successful breeding from diverse pedigreed blood lines to accept the petition for breed pedigree.  The breed is just too new to have established this documentation.
