Are hypoalergenic and nonshedding the same?
AnswerPoodles are hypoallergenic largely because they do not shed. They have hair that continues to grow much like human hair rather than shedding seasonally. That is why poodles need to be groomed regularly. Likewise poodles do not have the typical dog dander that causes so many human allergies. Poodles are very clean and do not cause dirty spots on upholstery or walls. Golden doodles inherit these traits from their poodle ancestry, insuring that humans who are allergic to even golden retrievers are not allergic to golden doodles. They do not have doggie oder or dander. They shed only their baby hair and their undercoat in summer if they are not groomed. Our pups really are noshedding adult dogs. I recently heard from the owner of a pup from a previous litter who is almost full grown now. Here is what she said about shedding. “As for the shedding, none at all! I groom her everyday and get a bit of hair in the brush but no shedding at all. In fact, I wear tons of black clothes and she can be all over me and I don't have one hair on me. Besides her wonderful personality, the no shedding is incredible. I can't tell you how much I love this dog. She a true best friend!" Category |
As the Obama's were deciding on a puppy we sent them a letter regarding our pups. Although they ended up chosing a Portuguese water dog, Michelle Obama was kind enough to reespond. |
