WE HAVE PUPPIES AVAILABLE.

From Aspen and Rio's January 2010 litter we have three pups left. They are 8 weeks old, weaned and house trained.  The girl is petite, blond and very smart.  Her smooth coat gives her the look of a full blooded golden retriever.  We have a curly red boy with brown nose and eyes.  He is a pick of the litter: smart but very willing to please.  Our other boy has a wavy red coat.  The price on him has been reduced to $800.  Give us a call if you have questions or want to make an appointment to visit Taos Dood Ranch.

Our champion bred jet black standard poodle Georgia gave birth to 9 perfect black babies on April Fool's Day.  We have 4 girls and 5 boys, all with fluffy, curly coats, black noses and black shoe buttons eyes.  Georgia and Rio's pups are always very intellignet and very calm in disposition.  They will grow to be a little smaller than standard, about 50 pounds full grown.  These pups are $950 each.

Taos Dood Ranch got its name in 2004 when our first goldendoodles, Aspen and Rio, came to live with us from Tropico Kennels in Palmdae, CA.  We strive to give our dogs a place to safely grow, play and raise their families.  We have 2 acres high in the mountains of Northern New Mexico in Taos County.  At an altitude of almost 8,500 feet, we have pure, dry air, cool summers and very cold winters.  Our dogs with their full shaggy coats love the snow.  Because the ground is frozen several months of the year we have no parasites or biting insects to trouble our dogs.  Bugs just can't winter over here.

We have a stream, the Rio Fernando, which runs through our property year round and is home to beaver, ducks and plenty of trout.  Because goldendoodles are bred from two breeds of water hunting dogs, poodle and golden retriever, our dogs love the opportunity to play in the water and chase sticks.  A bridge and steep driveway keeps them safe from the highway and gives them plenty of room to run.  However, we can't let them all run unsupervised because they love to romp in the forest and chase critters.  We keep them safe at home.

We have a large enclosed and roofed kennel lined with straw that they enjoy winter and summer except in the very coldest part of winter then they sleep indoors.  Their kennel has access to a large outside kennel yard where they play on bales of straw.

We have 4 females who each have one or more litters per year.  Rio is the daddy for Aspen and Georgia's pups.  We use champion poodles from Hell Creek Kennels in CO and OZPoodles in New Mexico as breeding partners for our other 2 girls.  All pups are whelped indoors and stay with their mothers for six weeks when they are weaned.  The last 2 weeks before they are ready to go home they get basic potty training and good manners in the kennel yard with the "Duty Daddy" Rio.

We do all we can to keep our dogs healthy, happy and well trained.  We are very proud of our results.

As the Obama's were deciding on a puppy we sent them a letter regarding our pups. Although they ended up chosing a Portuguese water dog, Michelle Obama was kind enough to reespond.
